Below are a list of teams and the players from whom we have received confirmations. Please review and please contact ASAP if you intend to play or out of courtesy, please let us know you are not returning. We still need confirmed managers/team parents for U9, and U10 teams. cliff@fcspringfield.net or clint@fcspringfield.net

U10 will be under the coaching of Joe Murphy as he has returned from overseas studies

U13 Boys are considering a new emerging league but will probably end up in LCS, and will play in a local tournament on April 10/11 and a KC Tournament April 30 – May 2

U14 Girls intend to train or scrimmage once a week (Saturdays) and enter one local tournament April 10/11.

U8 will play 8 LCS games and will enter one local tournament April 10/11

All other teams will play 8 LCS games only

We have held coaches meetings over the winter to try to improve some areas of training and game management. Many of our coaches are attending clinics this winter as well. Thanks.

(*) – The U13 team is attempting to arrange its own schedule outside of Lake Country this season. This may entail the creation of a regional travel league, or possibly a series of friendlies with clubs from other parts of Missouri and Arkansas. As a result, we do not have final answer on league costs; however, the $65 league fee above will ensure we can enroll in Lake Country’s league should the other opportunities fail to materialize.

Additionally, we expect the non-LCS option to cost less than $65 per player, which means the total amount due may likely be less than the $215 shown above. Finally If we do enter the tournament in Kansas City, be prepared to budget for hotel accommodations.

FC Springfield is accepting players on the following rosters for the 2010 spring outdoor season:

U7s – Boys or girls born 8/1/02 and 7/31/03

U8s – Boys or girls between 8/1/01 and 7/31/02

U9s – Boys born between 8/1/00 and 7/31/01

U11s – Boys born between 8/1/98 and 7/31/99

U12s – Boys born between 8/1/97 and 7/31/98

U13s – Boys born between 8/1/96 and 7/31/97.

The younger the player, the less important it is to already be a well-rounded player. What does matter in all players is their willingness to be a dedicated teammate and to do the work that leads to improvement.

FC Springfield’s U8s and U12s will participate in the second indoor session at Lake Country this winter. The league is set to kick off the week of Jan. 18. Schedules will be posted on the affected calendars when they’re released.

All FC Springfield players may attend the practice sessions to be held Jan. 9 and Jan. 16 in the Parkview High School gyms. Here’s the practice schedule:

4 PM – U7 and U8s

5 PM – U9s and U10s

5 PM – U11s, U 12s, and U 13s

Please keep in mind that while  spring soccer games are played in April and May, the registration process is done primarily in February, so players will be expected to communicate their intentions early that month.
