Effective June 2009, FC Springfield and SpringHigh Select will combine their soccer clubs to expand youth development teams, and to continue to grow a competitive soccer club for high school aged players.
The new club will be called FC Springfield, with the high school boys’ teams continuing to play with the SpringHigh Select name and uniforms, adding a FC Springfield logo. The club will continue to utilize Drury soccer players and other experienced area coaches to assist in player training.

FC Springfield will field four teams this spring, with each team getting started April 11.
Each team’s schedule is loaded into the club calendar. This is a Google calendar, so if you have a Google account, you can download items from the club’s calendar to your own very easily.
Remember to be at the field no less than 20 minutes before kick-off. Also, always bring both jersies to your games.

Please make your payment of $60 by March 5 (our Thursday-evening practice next week) to cover your share of the league fee. We need the training fee of $45 per player to be paid by April 2.
Players who double roster (U7s who also play U8s, for example) may need to make an additional payment once we sort out the rosters.
Checks should be made out to “Jace Nuby, LLC”.
We’re waiting for some pricing information from our uniform vendor, and we’re finalizing the sponsorship contributions that have been graciously offered by friends of the club. Therefore, we still do not have a firm figure yet for uniform costs. The original amount suggested of approximately $30 is still looking fairly accurate.
Fundraisers Being Considered
Training fees are our primary source for compensating our additional coaching staff, but we feel that our current training fees will not adequately allow us to bring in the number of additional coaches we’d like to offer our players. We’d like to add one or two more coaches this spring if possible. But because we also have the goal of containing costs as much as possible, we’re not prepared at this point to dramatically raise our training fees. Instead, we would like to conduct a fundraiser or two this season as a way to supplement this part of our budget.
We’ll share more information in the coming weeks, and we’ll try to make it as brief and painless as possible.

FC Springfield will hold outdoor practices 6-7:30 PM every Tuesday evening in February at JFK Stadium on the campus of Parkview High School, beginning Feb. 10.
Weather conditions will be taken into consideration on a week-by-week basis.
Players should wear shorts and t-shirts underneath long-sleeved sweat clothes, as well as their cleats and shin guards. Please bring your own ball and water to practice. The drinking fountains are turned off this time of year.
All players–indoor and outdoor–are encouraged to attend.

Players who played on FC Springfield rosters during the 2008 fall season need to RSVP their spot for the upcoming spring season by Feb. 6.
Lake Country informed us that their registration deadline will be March 11. We need to determine our returning players early enough to sort out any vacancies that need to be filled as well as assess the possibility of forming one or more new teams.
Several players have joined us for the indoor season, so the possibility exists of forming true u9 and u10 teams this spring rather than mixing the two groups together as we did in the fall.
You can use the “Contact the Club” link on the sidebar to send in your RSVP.
